You need to detach a printer from one queue before attaching it to another queue. You may also need to detach a printer to change the PostScript™ printer description (PPD) file for the selected queue.
To detach a printer:

Open the Apple menu and choose AppleShare IP Admin, then choose Print Admin.

Start the print server if it is not running.

Select a queue, then click the Edit Queue button.

Click the Attached Printers tab.

Select a printer, then click the Detach Printer button.

Click Save.

If jobs are being printed, choose whether to wait or detach now.
If you click Detach Now, users will have to resend the print jobs.
